Privacy policy – Nodepositbetsnz

Only the personal information needed to keep a reading site running is collected by Nodepositbetsnz, which deals with no-deposit and free-bet offers for readers in New Zealand. The Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles (section 22) govern that handling.

The responsible agency

The agency answerable for personal information gathered through the site is the body that operates it. Its name, address and e-mail address are available at nodepositbetsnz.com, and the same channel serves every question about personal information.

Information collected

Opening a page makes the server write a log entry: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the volume of data sent, the referring page and the browser type. Logs serve security and the detection of abuse, and after 90 days they are deleted or shortened so they no longer point to a person. A message to the editors adds a name, an e-mail address and the message text, used solely to reply. The site has no reader accounts, no deposits and no bets, so payment details and identity documents are not collected.

Why it is collected

Purposes are lawful and tied to the site: keeping it running and secure, replying to messages and, after a choice in the cookie banner, measuring the audience (IPP 1). People are told what is gathered and why (IPP 3), and use stays within those purposes (IPP 10). No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.

Recipients and transfer abroad

Nothing is sold. Hosting, content delivery and e-mail providers receive information, as do public authorities where the law requires. A provider may hold information outside New Zealand; disclosure abroad happens only where the recipient is bound by comparable safeguards or the person has been told and agrees, as IPP 12 provides.

Safeguards and retention

Reasonable safeguards protect information from loss and misuse (IPP 5). Retention lasts only as long as the purpose needs (IPP 9): server logs up to 90 days, correspondence until the matter closes plus the time needed for possible claims. A notifiable privacy breach, one that has caused or is likely to cause serious harm, is reported to the Privacy Commissioner and to the people affected.

Access and correction

A person may ask for access to information held about them (IPP 6) and for correction of it (IPP 7). The answer comes as soon as reasonably practicable and no later than 20 working days after the request arrives (section 40).

Complaints

A person who believes their privacy has been breached may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
