Cookie policy – Nodepositbetsnz

The pages of Nodepositbetsnz on no-deposit and free bets run on a small set of technical tools, and this policy lists them. A cookie is a small text file kept by the browser on a device; local and session storage entries and counting pixels behave in a similar way and are treated alike.

What the law requires

Where cookies or similar tools gather personal information, the Privacy Act 2020 applies through its information privacy principles (section 22). Collection has a lawful purpose tied to running the site (IPP 1), and the person is told what is gathered and why (IPP 3). Reasonable security safeguards apply (IPP 5), nothing is kept longer than needed (IPP 9), and disclosure outside New Zealand follows IPP 12. A choice made in the banner can be altered whenever wished.

Files set without a choice

Some files are needed for the site to run dependably: those that hold a session open, share load across servers, guard forms against abuse and record the banner choice itself. No separate choice is asked for them. Session files vanish when the browser closes, and the recorded choice lasts no more than twelve months.

Functional files recall display settings, such as the tab last opened. Analytics files count page views and show which pages are read, so that content can be improved. Both are set only once the banner has been answered. IP addresses are shortened before analysis, and no profile following behaviour across sites is created.

Outside services

An embedded video or map can set files of its own, and the provider’s privacy terms then also apply; objections go to that provider. Nodepositbetsnz sets no advertising cookies for personalised ads without a clear choice in the banner.

Changing or withdrawing a choice

The footer link "Cookie settings" allows a choice to be changed or withdrawn at any time, and withdrawal works for the future. Browsers also let users block and delete cookies in their own settings. Once the necessary files are removed the banner returns, and some features may briefly stop working.

Complaints

A complaint about how personal information is handled goes to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. The privacy policy of this site gives the details of that handling.
